Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Injury Center

The Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Injury Center and Clinic was formed to address the lack of understanding and treatment of children and adults with brachial plexus and/or peripheral nerve injuries. One of a few centers in the country with expertise in the area of brachial plexus injuries, the center and clinic has become a major regional and national resource, receiving referrals from throughout the United States and the world. The goal of the center and clinic is to provide state of the art surgical techniques to the treatment of adults and children with brachial plexus and peripheral nerve problems. These include birth injuries, trauma, thoracic outlet syndrome, tumors, and entrapment neuropathies.

The center provides multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment for all types of brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injuries. Members of the center's multidisciplinary team include specialists in neurosurgery, micro/hand surgery, neurology, physical and occupational therapy, neuroradiology and clinical social work. Team members are available during the patient's appointment to maximize the efficiency of the patient's evaluation and to facilitate collaboration of the different specialists. Patients with injuries to the brachial plexus and peripheral nerves benefit from this approach by receiving comprehensive medical, surgical and psychosocial information throughout their ongoing evaluation.
