  3. Psychotherapy treatment studies for depressive disorders;
  4. Neurostimulation therapies for treatment resistant depression;
  5. Combining neuroimaging and treatment studies of major depression.

Mood Disorder Programs:

  1. Major depression:
    1. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for relapse prevention of depression (NIMH)
    2. Combining medications to enhance depression outcomes (Depression Trials Network)

  2. Treatment resistant depression (TRD):
    1. Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) for TRD (Cyberonics)
    2. Cortical brain stimulation for TRD (Northstar Neuroscience)
    3. Deep brain stimulation for TRD (Medtronic)
    4. Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for depression (clinical service)
  3. Bipolar disorder:
    1. Lithium treatment for bipolar disorder (Bipolar Trials Network
