Biography

John R. Baker, MD, PhD is director of the Neurovascular Center at UPMC Mercy. He specializes in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease including acute stroke, angioplasty and stenting for carotid and vertebrobasilar revascularization, brain aneurysm coiling, brain and spine arteriovenous malformation and tumor embolization, and head & neck vascular malformation and tumor embolization and sclerotherapy, as well as spine kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty.

Dr. Baker received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed a residency in neurology as well fellowships in radiology, endovascular surgical neuroradiology, and vascular and critical care neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Brigham And Women’s Hospital.
