Biography
Robert J. Sclabassi, MD, PhD, is a member of the Neuroscience Program, the Training Faculty in Neuroscience, and the medical staffs of UPMC Presbyterian, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC Montefiore, Eye & Ear Hospital and the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. He holds joint appointments in the School of Medicine, School of Engineering and Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Sclabassi completed his undergraduate education at Loyola University of Los Angeles; he then earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering and an engineer’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Southern California. After receiving a PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California in 1971, he spent a year as a postdoctoral scholar studying basic and clinical neurophysiology at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1981, he earned an MD degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Sclabassi has published more than 151 articles in refereed journals, 172 conference proceedings, 163 abstracts and 52 book chapters.
