Biography
Daniel A. Wecht, MD, joined the Department of Neurological Surgery as a clinical assistant professor in September of 1999. He was promoted to clinical associate professor in 2002.
He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. After graduating from Harvard University, Dr. Wecht attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Baylor College. He received additional training at Yale University School of Medicine in neurovascular disease.
He is board certified with the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Wecht specializes in the treatment of brain tumors and cerebrovascular diseases, such as stroke, aneurysms, vascular malformations and carotid artery disease. He also has an active spine and general neurosurgery practice.
He has co-authored or authored several articles and publications.
Dr. Wecht has been a neurosurgical faculty member at Yale University, (New Haven, CT), University of New Mexico, (Albuquerque, NM) and Allegheny University of the Health Sciences, (Pittsburgh, PA). He is an active participant in multiple professional and scientific societies. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and New Mexico.
