Pittsburgh, December 15, 2000 -- The Brain Tumor Center announces the availability of a new clinical trial at University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute utlizing a novel chemotherapy agent called fenretinide. This oral medication chemically related to vitamin A may induce glioma cells to differentiate into non-dividing, less aggressive cells.
