Pittsburgh, January 12, 2004 -- Kevin A. Walter, MD, assistant professor of neurological surgery and pathology at the University of Pittsburgh, completed the Walt Disney World Marathon in Lake Buena Vista, FL on January 11. Dr. Walter completed the event -- which took runners through all four of the resort's main theme parks with a finish in EPCOT Center -- in 4 hours, 17 minutes and 9 seconds.
Last July, Dr. Walter competed in the first-ever U.S. Ironman Championship, the HSBC Ironman USA Triathlon, in Lake Placid, NY. He finished that event -- a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike course and a 26.2 run -- in 14 hours, 26 minutes and 8 seconds. |
