Pittsburgh, May 2, 2008 -- Bernard George, MD, chief of the department of neurosurgery at Hospital Lariboisière in Paris, France, will be presenting two lectures here, May 28, as part of the department's Visiting Professor Lecture Series.
At the 11:00 a.m. Resident's Lecture, Dr. George will give a talk entitled "Vertebral Artery Surgery. Technique and Indications from Spondylotic Myelopathy to Jugular Foramen Tumors." Later in the day at the 5:00 p.m. Multidisciplinary Lecture, Dr. George will provide a second lecture "Surgery In and Around the Cranio-Cervical Junction.”
Dr. George is an expert in vertebral artery surgery, skull base surgery and vascular surgery and has over 250 publications in national and international journals. He is a pioneer in the field of surgical management of foramen magnum and vertebral artery pathology. He represents an extremely unique experience and will be here to share this with us.
In addition to his lectures, Dr. George will participate in the department's conferences throughout the day, a dissection lab and will be the featured guest at an invitation-only dinner and reception later in the evening at the Fox Chapel Golf Club where he will present a third lecture “The Tomatotopic Organization in the Soprano."
