Pittsburgh, February 9, 2009 -- Tri-State Neurosurgical Associate neurosurgeons Joseph Maroon, MD, and Matt El-Kadi, MD, PhD, were the subject of the lead cover story in the February 2009 issue of The Point North magazine, a local health-oriented magazine serving the northern suburban communities of Pittsburgh.
The article focused on the two neurosurgeons' 25 years of service in the Pittsburgh area and their commitment to providing the latest technological advancements to the community.
Dr. El-Kadi is the chief of neurosurgery at UPMC Passavant Hospital and an expert in the treatment of spinal fusion, spine tumors and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Dr. Maroon, vice chairman with the department and Heindl Scholar in Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh, is an expert in the treatment of spine disorders, brain tumors, and sports medicine. He is also a noted health expert and has just released a book, The Longevity Factor, that examines how the natural substances found in certain foods can lead to a healthier and longer life.
