Project Summary:

The goal of this project is to translate laboratory investigations towards dveloping saf and effective treatments for patients with brain injury.

The current research proposal is intended to support the use of clumazenil in a future clinical research trial in patients with traumatic brain injury. This FDA drug, which is commonly used in a trauma setting, is an attractive candidate for application in a human trial.

This proposal is to first study this in an animal model, with the intention to either support or refut the start of a human trial looking at the effects of clumadenil treatment following TBI.
