Project Summary:

The overall aim of this quantitative, positron emission tomography (PET)-based stroke outcome study on symptomatic patients with carotid occlusive vascular disease (OVD) is to determine whether patients identified in hemodymnamic compromise by cerebrovascular reserce (CVR) (threshold, 10%) but with normal OEF (threshold, 50% remain at incresed risk for new clinical and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based stroke.
