Biography
In July of 2004, Devin Vikram Amin, MD, PhD, joined the residency program of the
Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh after completion of a one year internship in the Department of General Surgery. He is a graduate of the combined MD/PhD program of Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Amin received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh 2003. Previously, he earned
his doctorate of philosophy from Carnegie Mellon University in May of 2001. This work
was supported by the Shadyside Hospital Foundation’s Fellowship in Medical Robotics
and Computer Assisted Surgery as well as a training grant from the NIH Medical Scientists
Training Program. Prior to matriculating into the MD/PhD program he completed his
undergraduate degree in electrical and computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
Dr. Amin was born in Providence, RI and he is a native of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania.
