Biography
Originally from northern Virginia, Johnathan Engh is a graduate of Duke University and
the University of Virginia Medical School.
Over the past six months, he has been the neurosurgical oncology fellow at UPMC Shadyside under Arlan Mintz, MD. During this time period, he has designed a new multi-departmental IRB protocol for the investigation of phenotypic markers of human brain tumors. This protocol will serve as the basis for collaborative research at UPCI investigating the cell cycle machinery of human brain tumor stem cells.
In addition, he has spent the past year continuing work on a flexible percutaneous intracerebral navigation system, together with Cameron Riviere, PhD, of Carnegie Mellon University.
Dr. Engh was named chief of endoport minimally invasive brain surgery for the Minimally Invasive endoNeurosurgery Center (MINC) in April of 2008.
