Biography

Ricky Madhok, MD, joined the neurosurgery residency program in July of 2003. During his PGY-3 year he worked with the neuroradiology, neuropathology and stereotactic radiosurgery services. In his time with the stereotactic service, he worked both in the Center for Image-Guided Neurosurgery and in the operating room learning frame based stereotactic surgery techniques.

His academic interests during have been broad. In his work with P. David Adelson, MD, he has written a book chapter on pediatric cervical spine trauma and with Kevin Walter, MD, presented a poster at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons 2006 annual meeting in San Francisco on the evaluation of intracerebral monitoring devices, which received a second place award in neurotrauma. He has also presented work in skull base surgery with Amin Kassam, MD, on endoscopic resection of skull base chondrosarcomas and is currently working with Douglas Kondziolka, MD, and L. Dade Lunsford, MD, on various projects involving Gamma Knife radiosurgery.

Dr. Madhok is a graduate form the UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School/College of New Jersey combined BS/MD program. During his undergraduate time he also spent time studying at Kingston University in England. While in medical school, his research interest also included the expression of various growth factors in brain tumors.
