Biography

Ricky Madhok MD joined the University of Pittsburgh neurosurgery residency program in July of 2004. In 2009-10, he will be in his final year of training. From July 2007 through May 2009, he completed a skull base and endoscopic endonasal fellowship with Amin Kassam, MD. He has presented the work from this time at various meetings including the North American Skull Base Society, European Skull Base Society, Canadian Neurosurgical Society, and Pennsylvania Medical Society.

In addition to this work Dr. Madhok’s other interest include minimally invasive spinal surgery. He has written on the various uses of the extreme lateral transpsoas approach for interbody fusion. Additionally he has written and published a number of articles and book chapters with Douglas Kondziolka, MD, and L. Dade Lunsford, MD, on the role of Gamma Knife radiosurgery.

Dr. Madhok is a graduate from the UMDNJ–NJMS/College of New Jersey, seven-year combined BS/MD program. During this time he also spent time studying abroad in England.
