Biography

Martina Stippler, MD, joined the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh in July of 2003. She is a graduate from the University of Innsbruck, School of Medicine in Austria and completed her general surgery internship at the Pennsylvania Hospital. She also concluded a pre-residency fellowship in neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania focusing on neurotrauma and neuro-critical care.

Dr. Stippler graduated from medical school defending her thesis on the role of inflammation in vasospasm. During the last two year she obtained a master of science degree in clinical science and perused research in the field of neurotrauma at the Safar Center for Resucscitation Research. Her special interests are in neurotrauma and neuron-oncolgy
