Pittsburgh, May 18, 2021 -- UPMC has been designated as a 2021 Multidisciplinary Team of Distinction by the North American Skull Base Society (NASBS). The designation recognizes the work of Cranial Base Surgery Center co-directors Paul A. Gardner, MD, and Carl Snyderman, MD, along with S. Tonya Stefko, MD, director of the Oculoplastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery Service at the UPMC Eye Center, and Bernard Costello, DMD, MD, dean of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
The designition acknowledges member institutions that have multidisciplinary skull base surgery teams that include physicians in a variety of specialties, treating patients through a team approach.
