Brain Injury Association, Inc.
The Brain Injury Association of America was founded in 1980 by a group of individuals who wanted to improve the quality of life for their family members who had sustained brain injuries. Despite phenomenal growth over the past two decades, the Association remains committed to its grassroots. The Brain Injury Association of America encompasses a national network of more than 40 chartered state affiliates across the country, as well as hundreds of local chapters and support groups.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention: Traumatic Brain Injury & Concussion
Basic information and facts. The CDC defines a traumatic brain injury (TBI) as a disruption in the normal function of the brain that can be caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head, or penetrating head injury. Everyone is at risk for a TBI, especially children and older adults.

ImPACT provides computerized neurocognitive assessment tools and services that are used by medical doctors, psychologists, athletic trainers, and other licensed healthcare professionals to assist them in determining an athlete's ability to return to play after suffering a concussion.

NASHIA is a nonprofit organization established to assist state government in promoting partnerships and building systems to meet the needs of individuals with brain injury and their families.

National Resource Center for Traumatic Brain Injury
Provides relevant, practical information for professionals, persons with brain injury, and family members. Center has developed a wide variety of assessment tools, intervention programs, and training programs.

The mission of ThinkFirst National Injury Prevention Foundation is to prevent brain, spinal cord and other traumatic injuries through the education of individuals, community leaders and the creators of public policy.
