Pittsburgh, April 10 2024 -- University of Pittsburgh associate professor Taylor Abel, MD, chief of pediatric neurosurgery and surgical director of the Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery Program at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, has been awarded the Philip Troen Excellence in Medical Student Research Mentoring Award from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
The prestigious distinction is based on graduating University of Pittsburgh student recommendations for outstanding mentoring over the course of their longitudinal research project. Dr. Abel was nominated by Madison Remick, incoming neurosurgery resident.
