Pittsburgh, September 19, 2022 -- L. Dade Lunsford, MD, Lars Leksell Distinguished Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and director of the UPMC Center for Image-Guided Neurosurgery, has been selected to receive the Allen Humphrey Excellence in Mentoring Award from the University of Pittsburgh. The award is presented to a Deans Summer Research (DSRP) mentor who has demonstrated exemplary care and commitment in all aspects of DSRP student mentoring.
The award is named in honor of Dr. Allen Humphrey, a distinguished researcher and highly regarded Medical Student Research Dean who retired from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014. Dr. Humphrey served as both the director for the Deans Summer Research Program as well as a Scholarly Research Project director from 2007-14.
The award will be presented at the Deans Summer Research Program (DSRP) Virtual Poster Symposium, scheduled for Tuesday, September 20 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 p.m.
