Pittsburgh, May 13, 2019 -- Fifth-year resident Michael McDowell, MD, has been appointed to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons Young Neurosurgeons Committee delegations to the History and Pediatric sections as liaison and alternate liaison, respectively.
The Young Neurosurgeons Committee provides resident representatives to the AANS leadership. They develop the future leaders of neurosurgery and provide a channel for young neurosurgeons to impact the direction of the specialty. Liaison responsibilities include attending all meetings of the section leadership committee as well as the annual section meeting and national AANS or Congress of Neurological Surgeons meetings. The liaison contributes as needed to section projects and provides updates at the YNC leadership meetings as to the activities of the section.
