McDowell Wins Pitt Faculty Teaching Award

Michael McDowellPittsburgh, February 11, 2021 -- Chief resident Michael McDowell, MD, received the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Award for Outstanding Mini-Elective at the SOM’s Curriculum Colloquium faculty teaching awards held February 11. Dr. McDowell’s course dealt with introducing medical students to the field of neurosurgery.

The annual awards recognize outstanding faculty contributions to medical education as recipients are honored for their contributions to classroom and clinical teaching, mentoring, and innovation. Honorees are selected by the School of Medicine’s award review committee and the Dean, based on nominations by students and faculty.
