Agarwal Selected For CNS Fellows Program

Nitin AgarwalPittsburgh, October 1, 2018 -- Fifth-year resident Nitin Agarwal, MD, has been chosen to participate in the 2019-20 Congress of Neurological Surgeons Resident Fellows Program. The program enables neurosurgeons-in-training to participate in CNS governance from the ground level, with an extensive array of volunteer opportunities.

Residents serving in the program engage fully in the CNS leadership structure, are exposed to committee processes, and gain a deeper understanding of all roles in the organization. The goal of this fellowship is to engage young physicians early in their careers in organized neurosurgery, and create interest in a path to volunteerism throughout their careers. Residents serve for a two-year term.

Dr. Agarwal mainatins an active role in organized neurosurgery advocating for medical student and patient education. His health literary related research has been published in several high impact factor journals including JAMA Internal Medicine and featured by prominent healthcare oriented news outlets such as Reuters Health. He is also the co-editor of the book The Evolution of Health Literacy: Empowering Patients through Improved Education.
