Pittsburgh, May 6, 2021 -- Registration for the 2021 8th Annual Pittsburgh 5K Run/Walk for Brain Aneurysm Awareness is now open and—like last year—will be held as a virtual event. The event is held to help raise funds for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation in their efforts to create brain aneurysm education and awareness materials and to help celebrate the lives of brain aneurysm survivors and their families.
Participants can sign up for the event at give.bafound.org/2021Pittsburgh5K and then enjoy a 5K run or walk with family or friends any time on or before June 26. Registration is $30 (lower virtual event fee!) and includes an event t-shirt and Brain Aneurysm Foundation face mask, although t-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after June 7.
Participants can sign up as an individual, create a team or join the UPMC Neurological Surgery team. Participants are also encouraged to take photos and post to social media using the #PittsburghBAF5K hashtag.
For those who can’t participate, please consider donating to this wonderful event. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation’s main mission is to raise awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors of aneurysms to promote early detection and prevent ruptures. They work with medical communities to provide support networks for patients and families, as well as to further research that will improve patient outcomes and save lives.
5K participants and donors will help the BAF with their mission and, in turn, help surgeons, healthcare providers, researchers, patients, friends/family members and the community understand this disease, provide the best possible treatment and, hopefully, increase awareness for disease prevention.
If you have any questions, or if you need more information on the event,, please send an email to email@example.com.
