Samuel Adida, MD, MS, joined the University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery residency program in July 2026 after earning his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He previously completed a combined bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University, graduating with departmental, college, and university honors.
Before medical school, Dr. Adida worked as an organic chemist at BioHybrid Solutions, now Myris Therapeutics. He is a co-founder of BioForce Spine LLC, a University of Pittsburgh-based company. His clinical and academic interests include spinal deformity, spine oncology, and skull base surgery. His research has received competitive awards and grant support and has resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at regional and national neurosurgical meetings. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and competed as an NCAA student-athlete on Carnegie Mellon University’s men’s soccer team.
