Kate Liberto, PA-C, joined the University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery in May 2025. She earned a bachelor of science degree in biology while tutoring neuroscience as a peer educator at Chatham University, followed by a master of science degree in physician assistant studies at Slippery Rock University. Post-graduation, she trained alongside experts within UPMC’s Department of Critical Care Medicine and learned the complexities of acute illness and the importance of the multidisciplinary approach to patient-centered care.

Kate has a strong personal and professional connection to the neurosurgery specialty and is interested in advancing her clinical skills and knowledge while contributing to high-quality, compassionate care for neurosurgical patients.
