CNS Selects Deng Paper as Best of Year

Hansen DengPittsburgh, June 22, 2023 -- A paper authored by Hansen Deng, MD, PGY-4 neurosurgery resident at the University of Pittsburgh, has been selected as the 2023 Neurotrauma and Critical Care Paper of the Year by the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. 

Dr. Deng will present the paper—“Time to Follow Commands in Severe Traumatic Brain Injury Survivors With Favorable Recovery at 2 Years"—at the 2023 CNS Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. on Monday, September 11 from 3:40-3:46 p.m. during the Neurotrauma and Critical Care Section Session.

The paper was published in the October 2022 issue of Neurosurgery, the official journal of the CNS.

David Okonkwo, MD, PhD, and Ava Puccio, RN, PhD, were mentors on the project. Enyinna Nwachuku, MD; Tiffany Wilkins, MD; John K. Yue, MD; Anita Fetzick, RN; Yue-Fang Chang, PhD; and Sue Beers, PhD; were co-authors.
